Cloud Dough

Dot and L had a great time playing with Cloud Dough today.  It's such a silly thing really, but they played in it for almost an hour and just loved it!  Two ingredients is all you need...flour and oil.  Any oil would work, like vegetable oil and such, but I used baby oil because it smells so good.  We did 8 cups flour and 1 1/4 cup oil.  Mix together and play!

Bird Feeders and Dancing Ribbons

Today we made bird feeders from pine cones found in our back yard.  Glued a few together as they are small ones, tied twine on one end, the girls spread on the peanut butter and sprinkled on the birdseed.
Hang outside the window and watch the birds!  So fun and easy!

We also made dancing ribbon sticks and spent a good chunk of our morning running around and dancing to Go Fish.  They have really silly songs that the girls love...and they don't drive Mama (too) crazy like many kids tunes. Here's a little clip....I love how Chubbo just sits there reading his book and I have no idea why Dot mentions my eyeball ????  Haha!

Noodle Necklaces

We had a lesson in color mixing and color patterns today.  Dot and L worked together to add food coloring to some shallow dishes with water.  We found out what happens when you mix those primary colors...they thought that was so cool!
We threw in a bunch of dry noodles for just a couple minutes....no more than that
as they will turn a little gooey.
Scooped them out and set to dry.  Took about an hour.
Before we started our necklaces, we made some color patterns with the noodles on the table.  It didn't matter to me if they made patterns on their necklaces, just seemed like a good teaching moment with all those great colors!  Anyway, a piece of yarn and a jumbo needle....
 ....we made these beautiful necklaces!
Wait a minute....who are those girls????
There, that's more like it!  ;-)
